WELCOME HOME!

If you are new, you might be wondering what to expect when you walk into THE ANCHOR on a Sunday morning.  This page will give you a preview of what to look forward to.

One of the things you'll notice when you walk down the main hallway is our mug wall.  We encourage those who call

The Anchor their home church to bring a mug to keep here.  No one uses a "to go" mug at home, so why would you here?  And when you have guests in your home you don't hand them a disposable cup, you hand them a mug because they are gonna stay awhile...why would it be any different here at The Anchor?  If it's your first time here, feel free to grab an Anchor mug off the wall to use for your coffee.  Hopefully you'll be back to put your own mug up on the rack.  And don't worry, we'll wash it and put it back up on the wall for you to use next Sunday!

We love having people here, so please make yourself right at home.

SERVICE TIMES

WE HAVE TWO SERVICE TIMES ON SUNDAY MORNINGS AT 9:00AM & 11:00AM.

SUNDAY Youth Services

On Sunday Mornings, each service offers Nursery - 5th grade classes for your kiddos.  Each class has a Biblically based, age appropriate teaching, craft and game.  Please visit our Children's Ministry page by clicking below to find out more. We also have a Mother's Room available for nursing moms near the Nursery.  And don't worry about missing worship or the message because we have a video feed of the service streaming into the Mother's Room.

We also offer a Jr High (6th - 8th grade) class during our 11am service in The Gathering Place after worship in the Main Service.  This is a great opportunity for students to connect with the Bible in a relevant way and it also gives us a chance to build relationships with students who can't make it to our mid-week youth group meeting. Jr. Higher students will join Main Service for worship and will be dismissed to the Gathering Place after announcements.

High School students join us in the main sanctuary for both services.  The statistics are overwhelming when it comes to students who stop going to church after they graduate.  Often, it's because kids feel like "big church" is their parents' service.  By having High Schoolers in the Main Service and getting them involved in different areas of service, students come to understand that it's their service too!

WORSHIP GATHERINGS

Now we never want to fit into a program or schedule and tell the Good Lord how we are going to do Sundays...

we are always open to Him "flipping the script" but at The Anchor, typically you'll see that we

worship God through these expressions:

  • we believe that praise and worship are an integral link between God and His people. We seek to serve Him humbly in a spirit of excellence through music and to lead others into His presence so that we glorify God as one body with one voice through one Spirit.

  • WE GREET EACH OTHER TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT WE ARE IN THE PRESENCE OF OTHERS WHO ARE MADE IN THE IMAGE OF GOD. THE CHURCH IS A COLLECTION OF PEOPLE, NOT A BUILDING.

  • WE LISTEN TO PREACHING FROM THE BIBLE, HEARING FROM GOD AS HIS WRITTEN WORD IS TAUGHT. NORMALLY, WE TEACH THROUGH A BOOK OF THE BIBLE, VERSE BY VERSE, TEACHING THE WHOLE COUNSEL OF GOD. ALL OF OUR SERMONS ARE JESUS-CENTERED.

WE ARE IN THIS THING TOGETHER AND IT IS IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER THAT YOU ARE NOT ALONE. YOU ARE WITH FAMILY.

These elements in our Worship Gatherings complement each other to form a picture of the Gospel.  You'll find that we typically have a longer time of singing after the message as our "response" to Him and His Word.   Our Gatherings are crafted so that we can learn about Jesus, worship Jesus and celebrate what Jesus is doing in and through our community, enabling us to go into the world to make disciples who make more disciples.

We'd love to meet you and answer any question you have.  Please stop by the Connection Table before or after service to find out more information.
